2024 was a difficult year for workers and organizers across Minnesota. Political pressure increased. Immigrant workers faced greater risk. Small organizations were asked to carry heavier loads. In response, Workers Confluence stayed focused on the work that lasts.
Throughout the year, we invested in union and community partnerships, provided hands on technical support when organizations faced real challenges, and created spaces where worker justice leaders could align, plan, and act together. We distributed $395,000 in grants, expanded access to trusted organizing and strategy support, and helped launch shared resources like the Immigrant Worker Legal Defense Fund.
The impact of this work showed up across the ecosystem. Workers recovered stolen wages. Organizing campaigns led to historic wins. Childcare providers and immigrant workers successfully pushed back against harmful policies. Relationships formed in moments of action continue to shape how organizations are preparing for what comes next.
At the center of this work is a clear commitment to racial and economic justice and to building worker power that is durable, connected, and rooted in solidarity.
